Guest guest Posted August 15, 2006 Report Posted August 15, 2006 The Gyn specialist, I see for antoher condition, has perscribed Neurontin for the hot flashes resulting from the Arimidex. They are most troublesome at night so he suggests tht I take 100 mg then. He is also concerned about my bones and thinks I should probably be on Fosomax. I HATE taking perscriptions to counteract the side affects of perscriptions. What do you suppose I will have to take to counter act the side effects from taking meds to counter act more side effects? Guest guest Posted August 15, 2006 Report Posted August 15, 2006 Hi Ellen, I have been taking arimidex for 2 and 1/2 years now. I walk five miles every morning and have not had any bone loss. I do get hot easily and scare my friends when I break out in incredible sweating bouts. LOL I did have some wrist pain and weakness but that has gone away. My feet are sometimes stiff when I first get out of bed but that passes also. I have gained some weight but have to focus on staying fit and appreciating the fact that I can outrun my children on any given day. I am blessed in many ways, Andree www.essentialsoapsinc.com Quote

Guest guest Posted August 19, 2006 Report Posted August 19, 2006 Hi Ellen, It's 2 yrs since I started taking Arimidex. My side effects are bearable fatigue and joint aches. I'm glad it's still keeping recurrence at bay. Thank God. God bless, Aurelia. Ellen wrote: Hi All! Hope everyone is feeling well (as well as they can be) and keeping strong. Guest guest Posted August 19, 2006 Report Posted August 19, 2006 Hi all! I have noticed one very uncomfortable side effect from Arimidex..I have been taking it for less than a month now. If I take it durin the day, I have unbearable gas. The last 2 days I have taking that way, before I was taking late at night. I work at a gas station in a small room. It is very embarassing when someone is with you. Talked to the phramist and he said to take GasX. I hope it works.....:LOL. Guest guest Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 Thanks Janet A I find it is not as bad if I take it at night. It is embarrassing, because I work in a 6 X 6 room. Most of the time I am with my boss. She is great about it. I just started the job 3 weeks ago and she will let me have the time off for my reconstruction. I am starting to get second thoughts about it. I have been fighting staph infection since March. My last job was too stressful and I could not heal right. This new job my stress level is way down. I work my shift and go home. Only 4 days a week. No phone calls. I used to manage a convience store. Never a minute of peace. While I did Chemo, of course I lost my hair. Did any one else lose their fingernails? I lost all mine. Sometimes is was painful. I am taking Vitamin for hair, skin and nails. They are growing back so pretty and long. Looks like no more fake nails for me. LOL I long for the pretty skin from chemo. HAHA Thanks for listening. Janet PS I was diagnosed July 25,05(My dad's Bday). Finished Chemo Dec 6th (I remember that date welland Radiation Feb. March 2nd Cancer free Woo Hoo. --- Janet Andersen wrote: > Janet M > > I do have a lot of gas and GasX does a great job. > The chewables work better for me than the > pill.........maybe that's just me. > > Janet A > > [Non-text portions of this message have been > removed] > > __________________________________________________ Quote
