At 55, I feel I have nothing to Yup, I met someone at my support group who was 19 when she got BC. The miraculous thing is that she was diagnosed in 1944!! (That is NOT a typo, it was 1944) -Frances M R Bartels ki0dz@... Guest guest
Hi Sharon – My situation is similar to Sandy’s…my tumor was just under 2 cm. The only reason I did 4 rounds of chemo was to be on the safe side. My onc said that just because my lymph nodes didn’t show anything didn’t mean that some of the cancer cells didn’t get away from the area. The tumor was actually high on my chest muscle and wasn’t seen in the mammogram. It could be felt and an ultrasound really showed it…I don’t know if it was where the tumor was located that cells could have spread outside the lymph nodes or what – maybe a question I should ask my onc. Re: 38 and breast cancer Hello Sandy, I was reading your diagnose of bc and I noticed that you had chemo. I am 54 and was diagnosed with a 1.5 cm. er/pr + no nodes and had radiaiton. It could be that as you are younger the bc is more aggressive and chemo is needed.
