Both are following SCD. We are trying to figure out how we eat on vacation? I don't want to have to have a sit down table service meal for each meal - our entire time will be spent eating!!! How do you navigate it? We will be staying in a hotel room, no kitchen. We will travel by plane - I know that I can stock up on non perishable snacks and either bring or send to the hotel, but I'm really concerned about the 3 main meals - I've heard that Disney is great in modifying at the sit down type meals, but, again, I don't want to spend all of our time at meals that take 2 hours! I feel like I won't have control on the food, which is overwhelming - Another question, is there any products that one could use to off set an illegal food? If something isn't made as it should be, etc, what could I use to help offset some of the symptoms - mostly with my daughter - it is extremely noticiable if she gets an illegal food - behavior, cognition, etc. Thanks!!!!! > > > — Marilyn > New Orleans, Louisiana, USA > Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 > Darn Good SCD Cook > No Human Children > Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund >
Guest guest
I did Disney on intro they are AWESOME!!! we drove 24 hours I brought lots of soup - cold at times or heated at rest stops - chick carrots eggs - then down there at the Nickelodeon hotel they cooked those things again plus steak and I had them whenever needed and to take into the parks - also call ahead and speak to them about food allergies and speak to each chef ahead of time AND when ou arrive at the restaurant - some were so kind they cooked my carrots for 4 hours while we did the park and then came back and got steak with those carrots and sat with my family to eat - only time it's happemed since SCD - menat so much hope to be well enough to attempt a restuarant again someday :-) but they are no joke with food allergies good place to go!!! PS if you use honey put in a plastic container - they'll let you carry food in but hard time with glass Eileen scd 15 months > > > >> > > > > > First question -- will you be traveling by car or air? > > We will travel by plane - I know that I can stock up on non perishable snacks and either bring or send to the hotel, but I'm really concerned about the 3 main meals - I've heard that Disney is great in modifying at the sit down type meals, but, again, I don't want to spend all of our time at meals that take 2 hours!
