Guest guest
Carol, I do know that some of the ladies had neuropathy from some some of the chemo meds they took. I am sure they will reply. I will keep you in my prayers. I'll bet you all have been wondering what has happened to me! I have been here, reading your posts, but just kinda quiet. I celebrated my 49th birthday Thursday, and a special one it was as I am now done with all my treatments! I have a new topic that may sound weird but it is happening to me. About half way through my 35 rounds of radiation, my hands started going numb on me during the night. Then, after a couple weeks, the numbness continued in three of my fingers on both hands even during the day. I ws told it was carpal tunnel syndrome. Both my onc and rad Dr. said neither treatment caused this. I was wondering, have any of you out there experienced this happening to you? I never had any numbness like this before all these treatments began. I tried looking it up on the internet but can't find anything that corelates BC treatments with carpal tunnel. I just hope it goes away eventually on it's own as I really don't want to have any more surgery. Well, I hope everyone is having a great weekend, and it's good to be back posting again! Carol from E. Guest guest
Hi Carol! I have noticed that since I started my Arimidex I am having a pain in my wrist. I have been on it for less than a month. Before that I was on Tamoxifen. No side effects on that med. I hope this helps. Guest guest
thanks Marisa! No, I am not on my computer that much, and I don't really do any repetive type of job. I never had a problem like this until after chemo and/or radiation. I am ER and PR neg so I am not on any drugs like tamoxifen or arimidex. I forgot to mention, I have a very tender spot on the inside of both joints of my arms. (Like opposite the crazy bone). That never started either until the other symptoms did. I guess I am a medical mystery! Carol > > > Carol, > > I do know that some of the ladies had neuropathy > > from some some of the chemo meds they took. I am > > sure they will reply. Guest guest
I'd ask your docs if it could be neuropathic pain. That can present as tingling or numbness. Cancer treatments can cause it. Guest guest
Hi Carol, What type of chemo didi you have? I had A/C and Taxol/Taxotere and had a terrible time with the last two. Awful to the point that I told the doctor I wasn't going to go on with it. I had 3 Taxol and 1 taxotere. I had severe neuropathy; it began with numbing of my toes and then progressed to burning/itching/prickling all over my body. I went to a neurosurgeon and he told me that a lot of times the side effects of taxanes can show up weeks after the end of the chemo. I finished chemo 2 weeks ago and since I took care of this from the beginning I am happy to say that I got my sensations all back again and no more prickling. I still have soreness all over and my joints ache but I am told that with time it will go away. My doctor prescribed me a mega dose of vitamin B, specially B1 and B6. Besides the vitamins and to counteract the effects on my joints and muscles, my onc prescribed L-Glutamin 3 times a day. It helped a lot during chemo and I am considering takig it again. I have pain and disconfort every morning! Anyway, I hope this helps you. Hugs --------------------------------- Yahoo! Messenger with Voice. Guest guest
Carol, I am having numbness in my fingers, basically last 3 on each hand, BUT.. I understand that is a side effect with the Taxotere. Didn't have a problem with the numbness the first 2 treatments, just this last one. One more to go on Thursday. So far its just annoying, but not sure what the one more treatment will do. Have not as yet said anything to onc, see him on Thursday before cleared for treatment. Barb chemo, radiation and carpal tunnel syndrome Hi everyone!
