In Shoman's new book, The Thyroid Diet (a good book by the way)...she

mentions she does Pilates..and highly recommends it for thyroid patients. Does

anyone here do this...or have any comments?

She said it helps build muscle, raises metabolism, relieves aching joints and

muscles, and can be done even by people who don't have a high level of

fitness or energy (perfect for thyroid patients.).

mentions that is doesn't put pressure on joints...gives you strength in the

core area of the abdomen and lower back. at the same time build flexibility.

with regular practice can resolves chronic back and neck pain. a gentle way

to ease into exercising.

she has done it since the summer of 2002...and says 2 hrs a week is fine. I

think I'm going to look into this.

ROFL. That 's what I tell myself. But I'm tired because I'm not physically

fit...and therefore too tired to get physically fit. What a vicious cycle.

ok - let me know about the Pilates. I think I'm gonna ask for that for my

Halloween Birthday.

when I turned 50 a couple of months ago, I bought myself a pilates reformer.

I have been lazy and not done it. I will make it a point to use it everyday

for one week and report. What did she say about it?

I do the floor exercises. I started it for my scoliosis to strengthen the core

muscles. My back does feel better from it. I am able to stand up straighter

without feeling so much fatigue.

Your kitty has congenital nystagmus. Very common with Siamese genes. Not

supposed to affect vision.
