Ken, TPN is a liquid IV that has all you need to live when you can't eat, they put a central line in me and then I would hook up to the TPN for 16 hours a day, it is milk shake looking liquid or at least mine was. it had all the things I need to live without eating by mouth... hope that helps and makes since...
