Guest guest
Just thought I'd share today's thought process about getting out and doing some running 6:30AM: " I should get out of bed and run before work. Oh wait, it looks dreary out. Maybe I'll sleep a little longer and run at lunch " . 8:30 AM: " Do I really want to pack a gym bag to take to the office. What a hassle. I'll just skip the workout today. I bicycled a bunch of miles this weekend. I ran yesterday and the day before. Today will be my day off. " 8:50 AM: " Well, what the heck. I'll pack a gym bag 'just in case' I get motivated. 11:30 AM: " Really feeling draggy. A run would probably help.... or a Sandwich - yeah, that's it, I'll taka run to Subway and get a sandwich " . 12:20 PM: " Well, the sandwich was good - I really should run. --- I left the gym bag in the car. Aw, forget it " 12:25 PM: " I'll get the gym bag from the car, but I probably won't run - I'll just walk - my body's not up to a run. Boy, the weather is dreary - overcast, cloudy, hot & humid, looks like it could thunderstorm any minute. I don't know... " 12:35 PM: " OK. I changed into my workout clothes. I could at least walk. No, I'll try running for 5 minutes, but if I don't want to do anymore, I give myself permission to just walk " 12:40 PM: " OK. That's 5 minutes. Let me just get to the next corner " 1:08 PM: " 2.8 Miles - all running - good job, Mitch " Very proud of myself for fining the motivation.
