Guest guest
Dr. Young points out that: If auto-antibodies are present...it renders oter thyroid testing invalid. ....if these antibodies are present, they may destroy the T4 or T3 one is measuring before the body can utilize it. So folks...reminds your docs of this when they get excitable over high high T3 readings.... Cindi

Guest guest
That is what Dr. Woliner wrote that article about (understanding lab results) on Shomans web site. He said once you have hashi's you never have to have another thyroid lab test again. The results would be invalid, so you dose by symptoms. Glad to hear a book it is written in to reference. I had not read that in any of the other thyroid books I have. mariannee saHHeHefffkkkkkk44 _____ From: nc2406@... Guest guest
Honestly Tigger, I'm not sure there are enuff of the 'smart doc's to see us all! I can't imagine being able to go to a dr, (I've been to 3 Endo's) who could actually think outside of the box. My first Endo was great with the hyperT I succumbed to, although once I swung over to hypoT, he refused to give me meds. Said my #'s didn't justify his writing the prescription? That is where a lot of people end up, In the 'normal' range that a dr looks at a chart and says we 'should feel great'. Before I came down with hyperT/Graves, that scenario worked because I didn't know any better. It's no longer valid for me, because I found where I feel best at. I've been hyperT/Graves and hypoT most of my life the more I read. We don't go from being healthy and at a good weight, to suddenly just feeling like vegetables without something going wrong to cause it. Or that is my theory anyway. Ordering the Armour has made a definate change in my everyday life. I can now go places on the weekend, because I'm not in pain all the time. ( I had started to stay home because I was too tired to do anything). I can work and actually think when I have the Armour in my system. I can stop the Armour and get carpal tunnel in a week (which I did recently). Get the right dose of armour in me, that carpal tunnel disappears. It's just one of the many symptoms I get. I'd love for my dr's to learn what I've learned, but you can't force them to. So in the meantime, I've got it under control. :-) With or without their blessings. SandyE~Houston Re: Re: Dr. Young's book on antibodies Oh, my dear Dr. ... where oh where do you find a smart doctor? Hugs, Tigger This is most likley why my doctor doesn't test thyroid values at all once you're on thyroid meds...he then goes by abatement of symptoms. The smart ones know this.
