I always recommend that everyone TRY to find a great doc. But if you can't, then I encourage your self-treatment!! Go for it!! And when you find you optimal dose, be SURE and let significant folks in your life KNOW what you are on, and how you take it---if you are ever in the hospital and can't communicate, it's important that loved ones continue you on your meds.
