Guest guest
Hi family and friends. I just wanted to thank you all for your support and prayers. had his surgery and we are home now. We are now waiting to hear from pathology at this point. He did very well however after all of the time I spent with the anesthesiologist prior to the surgery we ended up getting a different one for surgery. This one assured me he was well aware of the Mito needs. Well, that proved to not be so and he gave Ringers lactate during and for a short time after the surgery. When we went into the surgery recovery room through divine intervention I am positive of, I looked up at his IV bottles and noticed there in true life the poison for him, ringers lactate. I just about freaked! I called the nurse over and told her he could not have that and she needed to turn it off immediately and get a doctor. She looked at me with a dumb look and went to get the doctor. was still very knocked out and my heart was in my shoes. I couldn't arouse him at all. Enrique was just standing repeating I can't believe this, I can't believe this, what have they done to my son? The surgeon sent her assistant out to say it was no big deal he only got a little bit, only about an hour and a halfs worth. I about hit the ceiling and told her he should not have gotten any. Of course they were scrambling because they knew they had made a major mistake, so the nurse just changed the bag to D-5 rather than his D-10 which was hanging on a pole just across the room from his bed, and pushed even more Ringers into him instead of changing the tubing so he didn't get any more. I was close to becoming Mrs. Q at this point but for 's sake I held it together. DR Boles was home sick so we were dealing with DR Yano who could not believe what had happened. He spent a good portion of the day trying to find out why this had happened while we prayed that God would spare any harm from the lactic acid they had given him in error. is doing OK at this point except for some vomiting which may or may not be from the lactic acid. They discharged him before he was stable so we went to an apartment near by that a friend of mine had because her son is having radiation treatments at another hospital where continued to throw up. We tried to contact Dr. Boles but to no avail so we brought him home as soon as he was stable enough to get him to a safer environment. We should hear by tomorrow from pathology, and hopefully from Dr. Boles later today. The Tumor although it went all the way to the lining of the spine had not gone into the spine which we were extremely grateful for, Thank you all for your prayers and thanks to our Lord for his answer to our prayers. The surgeon took out what she could, a mass a little bigger than an ostrich egg. She left him with a very small incision, only about 3 1/2 inches or so wide, considering the size she removed which he is very happy about. They had to do 3 layers of inner stitching to get him back together and then they did a very nice looking cosmetic exterior closing on the outside, not one external stitch he will have to have removed, just super glued him together and then bandaged him up. :-) He is in some pain but very happy to be in his own comfy bed. He is a bit worried because there is a chance that he will have a concave on his back due to the size they had to remove, but we told him to not worry it will just give us a place to hang on to him by. LOL. Now the hard part is just waiting for pathology to call. We will keep you updated as soon as we hear. Thank you again for praying for us all and caring about . As he said, well Mom step one and two down, just a few more to go. Your continued prayers are needed and appreciated as Kira is not feeling well at this time and is having trouble with her G-Tube. She is having large blood clots coming out of her stoma and pain on her left side. One kid down ,one to go LOL :-) Hugs from the whole group, Enrique, , , Kira and Krisalynn
