Guest guest
I started out with tomixifin from Dec 2002 to Oct 2003 then went on arimidex from Oct 2003 to present...Tomixifin I had leg cramps and swelling of the feet...Both of the drugs gives you some weight gain...I dont have very much cramping and dont have the swelling of the feet on Arimidex...Since I was on Tomixifin for awhile I had to have a D & C last month because of thickening of the lining...Everything is ok.. Guest guest
Hi, - I'm on Arimidex, and this is my 3rd month, I think - I lose count! I have had no side effects from it at all, although I believe some people get joint pains. I have the neuropathy too, from Taxol last Sep/Oct/Nov, and my toes and fingers are no better now after 8 months. One of my chemo nurses said " Some people get the feeling back ... " and another said " ... but it can take a few years. " So I'm keeping my numb fingers crossed. <G> I'll keep them crossed for you and your husband too - Love, Margery. ============================================ margery@... in North Herts, UK ============================================ > New to the Group > > Hi, > > My name is and I have just finished treatment for stage II > breast cancer, node negative. New to the Group Hi, My name is and I have just finished treatment for stage II breast cancer, node negative. I am getting ready to begin Arimitex and was wondering if anyone had any feedback on the side effects. I also have neuropathy in both of my feet and was wondering if those of you that have had this have found it improving over time. I received 3 treatments of 5-FU, Epirubicin and Cytoxan and 3 treatments of Taxotere. Just as I was completing my radiation treatments my husband was diagnosed with throat cancer. He has just finished his last radiation treatment and we are praying for a good prognosis.

I am on Taxol now and I was starting to get some of the numbness in fingers and toes. The PA at my onc's office told me to take Vitamin E (400 I Us per day) for it and it helped! I know I have to quit taking it 2 or 3 weeks before my surgery but it is helping while I am on the Taxol, so I thought I would mention that to you! It is worth a try! Guest guest
Betsy, Thanks for the information on Arimidex, I have been putting off filling my prescription. I know that is not the smart thing to do, however, the side effects had me a little concerned. I'm not looking forward to the weight gain, but I can deal with that. Hope you are doing well.
