Guest guest
My onc told me to have mothwash at least 3 times a day with filtered water and baking soda to avoid the mouth sores. So far so good. I didn't have any problems in this regard. As for rectal fissure (my problem) and burning that followed every chemo, specially the taxol ones, I used baby cream to protect the area. The first time was terrible, but then the others I could control. My last chemo changed to Taxotere, but since I am having diahrrea, I decide to prevent and use the cream. Hang in there, it is the last one! I am very tired with this but it is the last!! Hugs " H. McGill " wrote: So sorry to hear what all you're going through. Guest guest
I have tried the Biotene mouthwash and toothpaste, I have tried the water and baking soda and my onc has gave me what the pharmacy labeled " Stomatis Cocktail " , it completely numbs my mouth and throat (it has benydryl and 2 other things in it (don't remember the names) and she gave me a precription called Famvir (an anti-viral medicine to prevent cold sores. Nothing has worked so far. As far as my rectum my DH has bought ever over the counter oinment and cream he could find and my onc has gave me 3 different precriptions and I still ended up with the Perianal Abscess that required surgery. My onc said she hasn't seen two many people who's body is as stubborn as mine in responding to meds. The bright side to this whole nightmare is that their is a light at the end of the tunnel! Just one more A/C treatment to go. Shirley > > My onc told me to have mothwash at least 3 times a day with filtered water and baking soda to avoid the mouth sores. So far so good. Guest guest
Hi Sharon, I'm sorry to hear you need an MRI. I hope it comes out negative. I had an MRI years ago, but it was to check for a congenital brain aneurysm. I heard of someone who had brain mets. I think her symptoms were dizziness and headaches. She had an operation and radiation, and while doing the radiation counseled people with brain injuries. Hope all turns out well for you. -

Guest guest
Sharon F, Good luck with your MRI - why are they doing this test? Are you noticing anything different with your vision or headaches or is it just precautionary? I had a PET/CAT Scan a couple of months back that covered head to toes.
