Hi everyone,

3 weeks ago I had a vestibulectomy, and I still have pain... can

anyone who has had this surgery comment on where they were at 3 weeks

later... I am so scared this surgery didn't work. I spent every last

dime I had on this last hope, and now I am really starting to freak

out. The pathologist found inflammation and HPV, so I thought removing

most, if not all of the affected tissue would help. But the pain is

still at pre-surgery levels (a constant burning), and I am so scared.

Please someone let me know if this is normal or not!

My vestibulectomy was 5 weeks ago today, and yes I

still had pain at 3 weeks. I saw my doctor today and

he says all is healing well. The q-tip test produced

no pain. I have pain at the 4:00 and 8:00 positions

when those areas are stretched since there is scarring

there. Working with the dilator is helping loosen

that up.

I don't know what type of pain you are having, but

please don't worry too much! Hugs your way!

Hi ,

Thanks so much for the reply! I appreciate the input. I have a

constant, low-level burning as well as pain to the touch. I had this

before the surgery as well. Did you only have pain to the touch at 3

weeks? I guess I am worried because my doctor said that I could have

sex at 6 weeks, and halfway into this time period it still seems out

of the question... I am just trying to separate surgical pain from

what I hope is not residual pain!

<<I guess I am worried because my doctor said that I could have sex at 6 weeks, and halfway into this time period it still seems out of the question... HOWEVER, you might be surprised at how much healing can take place in a few weeks. I've had two c-sections and a laparoscopy, so I know from that that 3 weeks can make a huge difference. Every day seemed to get just a LITTLE bit better--it was so slow, but it eventually did. Keep heart and keep us updated! Becky __________________________________________________
