Wow

The only time you found you were not depressed was after being on the armour?

Did you ever have any blood tests to indicate hypo or was your diagnosis symptom

related? Did you try anything other than the armour - adrenal help, progesterone

(I mean the " good stuff " - not SSRIs - ;o))?

I was diagnosed as hypo when I was 18 in Texas by a DO, He did blood work and

gave me the diagnosis and then adjusted my Armour by how I felt. Back then I

felt great on 3 grains a day. When I was 20 he died. The next Dr would only give

me Synthroid. He explained how it was SO much better and that Armour was

obsolete & unsafe. God I wish I knew then what I know now! I would have told him

to shove his Synthroid where the sun don't shine! SO began 25 years of hell on

Synthroid. I have taken every dosage imaginable since then and just steadily got

sicker and fatter till 5 years ago I almost died. At 22 I was seeking help for

my suicidal tendencies and ended a month old marriage. At 27 I had a complete

hysterectomy. Never could have children and I wanted them and tried to get PG my

entire life. My weight went from 98 at 16, to 155 at 18, to 120 at 21, to 180 at

24, to 240 at 30, to 165 at 40 to 228 at 45... and now at 49 I am at 185.

The only time it went down was illness or Armour. I have been to at least 30

doctors, never been tested for antibodies or hormone levels. Always the TSH and

blood glucose. I think when I was about 32 was when I had pesticide poisoning

from dipping the dogs at work. I was dipping so many dogs I literally got

overdosed with it. At 45 I took my meds into my own hands. I still see a GP but

I don;t listen to him. All he wants to do is put me back on Synthroid. My last

tests showed below normal Free T3 low normal Free T4 and a TSH of .01. LOW. He

wanted to lower my Armour! I just said OK and ordered the extra AND Cytomel on

my own. I am feeling SO much better since I started the Cytomel! I think with

the insecticide poisoning, I do not convert at all. I am about due for some more

testing, but will probably order it myself from Healthcheck as I just don;t want

to hear this DR whining that I will never feel healthy in Armour, which is what

he told me the last time. ly, I have spent WAY too much time & money on

doctors to ever trust them again.
