Hi, all-

I have been following this forum with great interest, and I finally have some

lab results to share!

TC 192

HDL 92

LDL 94

TG 29

TSH 1.67

D3 36

Leptin 15.4 (1.1-27.5)

Free T4 1.25 (0.82-1.77)

Free T3 3.0 (2.0-4.4)

Reverse T3 271 (90-350)

Ferritin 70 (10-291)

Insulin 3.6 (0-24.9)

Temperatures at 3, 6, 9 hours after waking:

Day 1: 98.0, 97.8, 98.3 (avg: 98.0)

Day 2: 98.3, 97.6, 98.0 (avg: 98.0)

Day 3: 98.2, 97.4, 98.0 (avg: 97.9)

I have already started supplementing with 4000 IU of D3 daily (though not before

these tests). If I calculate my reverse T3 ration correctly, it's about 11.7.

Does this mean I am a candidate for RT3 therapy with cynomel? Do these results

suggest any other action I need to take?

Thank you for your input!

I would bump that D3 up to 5000iu daily as it si slow to come up for

most people. Yes you are a good candidate for T3 treatment but befoe you

do that I woudl suggest a full iron panel. It does nto look liek

adrenals nor high T4 is the cause of your high RT3 so lwo iron is the

most liekly other cause. It si not good to try T3 wiht out knowing for

sure what smight interfere with it an many people with lwo T3 have low

iron.

Thanks for the quick response. Would an iron panel with the following tests

give me the information I need?

Fe and TIBC ; Iron Indices ; Iron Profile ; TIBC ; TIBC and Iron ; Total Iron

Binding Capacity ; Transferrin Saturation ; UIBC ; Unsaturated Iron Binding

Capacity/Vitamins

I know at 70 my ferritin is just in the range considered acceptable to start

cynomel. What else should I be looking for in the iron panel?

Could severe emotional stress start an RT3 problem? I've read that as a

possibility, and it seems to fit in my case. I don't know how that does or

doesn't fit in with the physical markers, but I've been curious about how that

works.

Thank you so much!
