Guest guest Posted August 22, 2006 Report Share Posted August 22, 2006 I just wanted to thank everyone for sharing her stories and struggles. I have been suffering from pelvic pain for 6 years. Yesterday I finally saw an OBGYN who listened to me and took my pain seriously. From listening to your stories, I feel I went into this appointment prepared. I knew how to present my symptoms and advocate for myself. This doctor has referred me to the Kaiser pain clinic in San Francisco. There is an OBGYN there that specializes in vulvar disorders. I have seen 5 doctors at Kaiser and this was the first who listened to me. I know there is a lot more ahead of me, but for a doctor to actually listen to me and take me seriously meant a lot. I want to tell anyone out there who is still struggling to be heard not to give up. Apparently, Kaiser in San Francisco now has a whole unit dedicated to treating these disorders. The word is out there now and I do believe the people who participate in this support site have a lot to do with that. So again, Thank you all!!!
