"On the WW.com message boards they're having quite a discussion about Applebee's, and some people shared that they felt the entrees were small."

I wonder if the entree looks smaller in comparison to what people are use to Applesbee's regular entrees?

I am sure it's very hard to be precise unless they use a scale each time they prepare a WW meal. In working for a pizza place we did have to weigh certain items (cheese), count certain items (pepperonies) or use measuring cups (sausage, sauce).

I wonder what the chocolate-raspberry cake is made with? Do they say on the menu if it's make with artificial sweetners? Splenda etc?

Thanks

Hi Bette,

I talked to (I was standing there and he just started talking to me) the General Manager at our local Applebees the other day when I stopped to get a take-out, the Grilled Chicken Citrus Salad. He told me that they are VERY PRECISE in all the WW meals (at least at his store). He has warned everyone that makes them that if they are not following the instructions exactly, they can lose their jobs because we (WW) expects them to be perfect on measurements. I don't know if they are this serious about it at other locations but he sounded like he was telling me the truth. By the way, I didn't think the salad was small, in fact, I couldn't even eat it all and saved some for later. I will definately go back and try others.

Applebee's, Applebee's, YAY!!

We just got home from dinner at the local Applebee's. We live equidistant between two, so I called both to make sure they were indeed serving the new WW menu. They cheerfully agreed that they were, and that they were already popular.Several things looked good to me. With the 13 points I had reserved for dinner I chose the onion soup for 3, the mesquite chicken salad for 4 and of course the chocolate-raspberry cake for 4. Everything was wonderful! On the WW.com message boards they're having quite a discussion about Applebee's, and some people shared that they felt the entrees were small. I'm here to tell you that the mesquite chicken salad was NOT small....it was served in a very large salad platter/bowl and was delicious. However, my suspicion vibes were out, because I could swear there were 4 ounces of chicken on that salad. Now 4 ounces of chicken would be 4 points, so if I'm right then that salad was more like 5 or 5.5 points. I'm okay with that because I had enough extra points to cover that discrepancy, if there was a discrepancy. The salad was spicy, which I expected. So if spicy bothers anyone listening in I'd suggest you try the citrus chicken salad instead.Next time -- and there will most definitely be a next time!! -- I'm going to try the sizzling chicken platter and the time after that the shrimp entree. How wonderful it is to have these choices!I told the manager how delighted I was, and I intend to write my thanks to corporate Applebee's.Yum!Bette

Not sure about the sweeteners, but my leader said that their office ordered a whole one for one of their birthdays and the label was on it and said ff and lf stuff. I will try to remember to ask about the sweetener and let you know.

It's also possible they use different plates so the portions would look different. For instance I can put a cup of ice cream in my regular cereal bowls which are wide and flat bowls and so it looks very skimpy. Put it on a cone and it looks pretty good. Put it in my tall Sunday glasses and it looks like a lot of ice cream. So.. I always serve ice cream in the Sunday glasses or on a cone and never ever in my regular bowls. I have measured out the ice cream so it's the same 1 cup every time but my head tells me I'm not getting enough if I eat out of the regular bowls. So perhaps the depth and width of the bowls are making things appear different.

Actually Bette, 4 ounces of lean, skinless, boneless chicken breast is

only 2 points, so the salad was probably right on at four!
