Guest guest
Bill, Aren't you a veteran? I would have thought that the VA would or could take care of a lot of that cost...i don't know about those things, but learning fast...I have a good friend that is a veteran and he doesn't go there for dental care either..So i guess the answer is NOOOO...He goes to the School of Dentistry in Birmingham..Says they do good work and the cost is not as much..You may want to check out the closest one near you..they may be training, but the instructors are there to see that they do it right...I'd think about that tooth pulling a lot before i did it, if it cost that much...WHEW!! I hope they chew a steak good...Hope you and your daughter are feeling better... Rita > > If I start extracting root canaled teeth, I'ed look like this . NOW that wouldn't be the worst trade-off I could make. After all I traded-off alcohol for sobriety. I traded off cigs for better lungs. I traded off women for peace-of-mind. SO, trading off root canals for hives isn't a bad deal: however, all of my teeth are now connected by permanent bridge work. The only support teeth on the bottom left & right are the rear molars. The tooth with the pocket in #28 front lower right. If it's pulled there's nothing to anchor the bridge to. Same on left side. All teeth top and bottom were ground down to nunbs to anchor bridge work. > > SO, tha trade off would be dentures. AND, no assurance of no hives. I truly don't know what to do. If I went dentures on the bottom then I will have tori to deal with. (tori are boney growths behind the lower front teeth). When I had oral surgery for the root canals, 2 tori were removed, but they grew back. > > The work I had done in '85 cost $10,000.00. Cash out of pocket. In todays market that's about $30,000.00. It too would be out of pocket. > > What I am going to do is take s' (of NJ) suggestion and have a tomography done. > > NOW, that's the whole story. I'll post more as it develops. > > Bill, in Richmond, VA > > > > --------------------------------- >
