Guest guest
Bill, I know what you're talking about, albeit on a smaller scale. I mean, I don't have any bridges (yet) or anything like that, but I keep thinking...what if I have that root canal tooth extracted and then I have a missing tooth...and hives still. That would suck. Thanks for 'listening'. Tami (NJ)

Guest guest
Hi Bill in Richmond, Your e-mail was not only informative but hilarious as well. My thoughts are we have to laugh at our predicaments or go insane. I to have a proverbial fortune in my mouth. I would venture to say possibly $10,000.00 as well. If I had the bridges removed and root canalled teeth pulled as well as the drilled down anchored teeth for the bridges, this alone would be expensive. Not to mention all the dental implants because I do not want false teeth that come out. I cannot do it without selling my house and probably marital counseling or worse a divorce. I have a feeling that these root canals are the culprit though. The one has been annoying and gums tender for the 15 years I've had it. The other one also bothers me and is a front tooth. Oh dear! It looks like the hives will be here for a few more years. Keep us updated on your story if you don't mind. Thanks! from CA
Guest guest
Bill, I really hope you persue this dental thing!!!!! I think it can't hurt. And we'd love ya without or with teeth (hee heee) Love, ~Alena's Mom Tha dental debate If I start extracting root canaled teeth, I'ed look like this . NOW that wouldn't be the worst trade-off I could make. After all I traded-off alcohol for sobriety. I traded off cigs for better lungs. I traded off women for peace-of-mind. SO, trading off root canals for hives isn't a bad deal: however, all of my teeth are now connected by permanent bridge work. The only support teeth on the bottom left & right are the rear molars. The tooth with the pocket in #28 front lower right. If it's pulled there's nothing to anchor the bridge to. Same on left side. All teeth top and bottom were ground down to nunbs to anchor bridge work. SO, tha trade off would be dentures. AND, no assurance of no hives. I truly don't know what to do. If I went dentures on the bottom then I will have tori to deal with. (tori are boney growths behind the lower front teeth). When I had oral surgery for the root canals, 2 tori were removed, but they grew back. The work I had done in '85 cost $10,000.00. Cash out of pocket. In todays market that's about $30,000.00. It too would be out of pocket. What I am going to do is take s' (of NJ) suggestion and have a tomography done. NOW, that's the whole story. I'll post more as it develops. Guest guest
Dear Bill I don't know what to say except I'm sorry you're having this tough decision, and good luck tomorrow with the tomography. (and I don't believe for one minute that you've given up women, ha!) love Carol Tha dental debate If I start extracting root canaled teeth, I'ed look like this .
