That virtual skating is really neat. I'd love to go there sometime. We

actually just got back from skating~we are teaching our 2-year-old how to skate!

Our 6-year-old is doing really well with skating. I hope to see the longest

skating rink sometime. It looks beautiful.

By the way, since I mentioned it already, if anyone's interested, you can

actually take a virtual skate from one end of the Rideau Canal to the other.

I used to do this for real fairly often in my better days. I live only a few

blocks from the canal.

The virtual tour actually takes you from downtown (just a block from the

Parliament Buildings), past National Defence Headquarters where I used to

work, then past my alma mater, the University of Ottawa on the left, all the

way down the canal to near the campus of Carleton University and the Central

Experimental Farm. It's really beautiful, summer and winter.
