Guest guest
Relax, size is based on waist size (for fitted clothes) most of time. So, I a person carries more weight in their arms and legs, their waist size will be smaller and therefore their size. I carry all my excess or rather, my main figure flaw is my waist. Therefore the perfect fit often eludes me. I bought a pair of Old Navy low rise jeans (size 8) and that took care of my waist problem pretty much. In some clothes I am tight in a 12, but they are too big everywhere but the waist. I am short waisted and hip huggers go to right below my belly button . . . but they fit much better as my hips are small. So, we all have different shapes and they do effect size! ) Vicki In a message dated 11/19/2001 8:34:30 AM Pacific Standard Time, halo@... writes: > With the tummy tuck I also expect to lose inches and pants sizes. I could use a bit more shape in my hips, legs and butt . . .BUT I have learned to love me as is. Finally found that place called satisfaction and that is good enough. I would like a tummy tuck some day, the upside down T for sure. I want to see what its like to have a waist! Guest guest
Angel, Your signature says " large frame " . If this is so, you probably will never be a size 8. But 10 is not a big size. Think of where you came from! It's interesting to me that you lost so much weight after your TT, because I didn't. (The few pounds from skin were put right back on as soon as I started to eat). It's as if my body is insisting that I am not going lower than 155. Are you happy with the restuls? You're still a bit swollen, so you probably won't get the full picture for a couple of months. Guest guest
Crap I'm 5'9 " tall and a size 14 AFTER the TT. My body came to a screeching halt at this size almost two years ago. AND I'M THRILLED WITH IT. I started at a whopping 375 lbs. Somewhere along the line we lose sight of where we've come from, remember being MO and very unhealthy? Personally, I don't want to look like a super model. I have curves and that works for me!!! LOL, judy in austin --- " A. Guest guest
my body just did not really change after the TT. my weight did not change after the TT. my clothing size did not change after the TT. the only thing that changed is that the pubic mound is higher and the belly button is gone. yes the stomach is flat but when clothed you wouldn't know the difference before or after - its only naked that you know. sue [swVA]

Guest guest
I know at some point I will have to have a tummy tuck. My reason isn't so much that my clothes look bad (I have a flap, but not horrible) but because of the darned skin infections that happen under this FLAP! Naturally all my clothes push this down and so when I sweat it stays wet. It is misery. I do doubt that a TT will change my size, because most of the skin and weight is in my thighs and butt. LOL Even with out the tummy flap I still have to get the thunder thighs into pants and there isn't enough suction and surgery in the WORLD to change these thighs. Not to mention... I dont' want any more scars on my legs. I have two 12 inch scars running down the front of my knees from my knee replacements and they are ugly, I can't IMAGINE adding scars down the insides of my thighs. The thought of it makes me physically ill. As it is... I will never wear shorts or short skirts again. And I have tried that make up that is supposed to help hide scars. These are just too big to cover up. I am > baffled.... > , it really does have a lot to do with how you are built. Before TT, I was pretty bony everywhere except the tummy and according to two PS, it wasn't going to go anywhere either. I had slim arms and long slim legs and a big gut. The TT has made a huge difference in how I look and what clothes I can wear. I can wear some things in a smaller size, depending on the style. But, because of the body sculpting my PS did with lipo, I look like a different person, with or without clothes. The extensive lipo was harder to recover from than just a TT, but it was worth every painful swollen minute and I would do it again in a heartbeat. I have a great figure for the first time in my life. It's not about what clothes size you can wear, it's about your shape and maximizing on the shape God gave you. I'm 5'9 " and wear a size 14, but it's a sexy svelte 14 and I'm extremely happy with the way I look. I don't compare myself with others wearing a smaller size, I look at where I was and where I am now and thank God I was able to have the plastic surgery. It's made a huge difference in my mental attitude about maintaining my weight loss and has helped me feel like I really reached my goal. judy in austin ===== judy in austin VBG 5/99 375 TT 5/01 165 I believe that friends are quiet angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly. __________________________________________________

Guest guest
<<I have a great figure for the first time in my life. It's not about what clothes size you can wear, it's about your shape and maximizing on the shape God gave you. I'm 5'9 " and wear a size 14, but it's a sexy svelte 14 and I'm extremely happy with the way I look.>> Judy- That sounds about right. In all honesty, if I can just get the shaping reworked some I wouldn't turn up my nose at a size 14 either! I don't have a problem with having a little meat on my bones...I just don't want to have to wear all these control undergarments to fit SMOOTHLY into my clothes! LOL Thanks for the great thoughts... :-) A. in Indy SRVG on 4-11-00 Dr. Huse Pre-op BMI 47, Pre-op Weight 278 lbs. As of 10-28-01, -126 lbs. and weighing in at 152! Guest guest
and others, Several have already stated that how you are after the TT has a lot to do with your build. Speaking from my own experience, I have to agree. I am 56 years old, a pear shape and never did carry the majority of my weight in the middle. I had a hernia, so went after the TT as an extra and was granted approval by my insurance co. I probably never would have considered it had it not been for the hernia. I am now 4 1/2 months post op, and for the first time in 30 years, I am wearing things tucked in and with a belt! That is something I could NEVER do before the TT. My size didn't really change at all, but the way things fit, did change. My weight loss was a mere 6 pounds, but the results are just phenomenal. I have this flat stomach which allows me to see parts of my body I never saw before, without looking in a mirror! Since my weight is in my backside and legs, the size is the same. Since you state that your legs are thinner, I am sure you will see the most dramatic changes in your body after the TT. I could achieve the same results with wearing a girdle, but don't need to do that now! Just remember, we are all different in our builds and that is what makes us unique!
