Guest guest
Hi Elaine, I am beginning to think that we have the same " type " of CU. My theory (for whatever its worth) is this, histamine is needed in the healing process, especially with wounds, (yes we do really need some histamine) when our bodies are fighting off illness or healing wounds, our histamine is busy doing it's job and we experience fewer CU symptoms. When all is well with our bodies, that excess histamine has nothing to do and it gives us those nasty itchies, hives, etc. Kind of like children who are bored, so they decide to drive you crazy for entertainment!!!!!! I am having a flare-up now and it is making me crazy. Itching, restless, anxious, skin overly sensitive, that " tingling feeling " around my mouth, very tired for no good reason!!!!! I have taken one extra doxepin (I do have my docs permission to do this as needed) and more allegra to try and combat the extra histamine. I find myself asking " what did I eat lately " " what could have caused this " but there are no obvious answers.... My ANA was checked about 18 months ago, probably would not hurt to have a re-check, will ask doctor to do that at next appt. I have 2-3 symptoms of lupus, but not usually all at the same time, (canker sores in mouth, fatigue, CU). I have been checked for tons of things, all are within normal limits. Happy New Year!!!
