Guest guest
Hi Holly, I will share my son-in-laws experience. His cholesteral levels have been somewhat elevated for years and at age 40 his doctor suggested fish oil supplements. Follow up blood testing showed his cholesteral levels rising significantly. His doctor said he had a few patients who had this reaction. The fish oil supplements were discontinued and repeat cholesterol tests went down to previous levels. He is now exercising more and will repeat blood work soon. Just proves that "one size doesn't fit all"--we are all individuals. Regarding the possible UTI, I would ask for a repeat test under "normal conditions" for you. Most likely the test was ordered as a routine--no wipes or clean catch necessary but your concentrated urine was suggestive of infection. I would hesitate to take an antibiotic unless it is truly a bacterial infection. Perhaps your MD would be open to a repeat urine WITH a (C/S) culture and sensitivity to rule out infection. This would include wipes and clean catch precautions. Smoldering urinary infections are nothing to fool around with and can cause problems ahead. Hopefully your MD is progressive enough to agree that un-needed antibiotics are not a wise choice. Good luck ahead with these issues.
