Debbie,

Since I went off the Prednisone about a month ago, I have been losing

weight, finally after gaining 40 lbs. and my point here is, I've been on

Neuron for about a year now, and have not seen any more wt gain with it. I

take over 800 mgs three times a day, but still losing wt.

Does that help, or am I talking in circles. Have you started on any other

drugs lately?

Love and Prayers,

Marla

Debbie the only thing Neurontin did for me when used with Elavil was to take my legs out from under me and I mean out from under me.

They are finding out now that this drug was and has been misrepresented to all the doctors.

I am keeping an eye out on this because there maybe a class action suit against the drug company.

I had weight gain with this drug as well.

Many of us take Neurontin for the neuropathy that comes with this disease. I was taking only 100mg daily, and that helped for a while. I tried to go up to the 900 mg daily, and found that i had major muscle weakness in my legs. So, it was go back to the 100mg day and try to keep the small nerve fibre neuropathy under a slow burn state.

Lately, the peripheral and small nerve fibre neuropathy has gotten really bad. I take 300mg of Motrin 3 - 4 times a day, and am taking 200 mg of neurontin with it. I helps only for a couple of hours, then its back to flow blown pain.

I am one of the few who can't take a high dose of neurontin. Many of us take 900mg 3x day. That's what my neuro wnated me on-- but it can't happen. Even at the dose I'm using to survive right now, my legs are showing signs of weakening.

As for putting on weight-- neurontin hasn't caused any problem with weight gain. Now my anti-depressant, Effexor XR made me put on an extra 25 pounds. That was on top of the extra 30 pounds from the steroids.

Hope this helps,

Tracie

Hi, I was just checking on some of the emails and noticed someone had asked about the neurontin, my gp had given me some upon my request because I had heard of many of you saying it had helped I was glad that I only took two or three of the tablets in my case because of the hydrocephalus and stroke I have had because their have been warnings come across the TV about the drug, its another one of the drugs that I am not sure if was supposed to be a wonder drug and was not completely checked across the board but I do believe that every case is different and if it works for you, you should use it because you are the one living in pain and now how the drug is affecting you. Thanks Sharon,

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones, I have had NO problems with it, and for me it is a wonder drug. Keep me posted, and I will look into it too, and keep you posted.

Thanks Tracie,

I had that heavy leg feeling in the begining, I was going up to fast on the neurontin. Now I take 800mgs three times a day, and 100mgs as needed for pain. It really works for me, but like I said, I had to go up really, really slow. It took me months to go up on it.

Will do.

I did find a web site last night but I did not have the time to really research it and it was about if any one had any problems with side affects that were not listed or told to expect, an online form was to be filled out.

Neurontin caused me to black out at work and caused some unusual side

effects.

Thanks,

Stacey

> Sharon,

> I have not heard anything about Neurontin, please keep us informed

about what you hear, as I take it daily, and it is a live saver for

me. It is the only thing that works for pain. Last night I was up

in the middle of the night with severe pain. I did take a 100mg

neurontin and an vicoprofen, before I could control the pain. the

vicoprofen does not work alone.
