Bob could I have your Email address to write to you personally ? I would like to ask you a few questions .. Did not know if I should post not ... my address is ljr@...

OHHH GEEEZ!!!

I just got back from seeing my surgeon... As you all know, I have three very large tumors on my brainstem. One on the facial nerve- one on the swallowing and one on the breathing ... He got a letter from Dr Heisenburg in California and he turned me down. said that if they placed the ABI I would not be alive to use it... Looks like im not getting the ABI afterall.....

He then gave me an option of not doing surgery and letting the tumor grow... Because more than likely the surgery is going to kill me anyway...

So, I made the decision, My cousin was in the same position am right now. Surgery might have killed him.. he elected to let the tumor grow and not do anything. sure he lived for 3 more years. but is was absolute hell. the last year he was on so much morphine and in so much pain.. and he just lingered on.. I don't want to die like that... I might be going out.. but I'm going out fighting..

ok Bob deep breath!! first off, sorry about the ABI. I'm sorry if

this sounds calous but it prolly not have worked great if at all for you anyhow

because of tumors, but we don't know that for sure so Im sorry you cant try it.

Id like one too but am not impressed with the statistics.

Now what are you saying you want to do about your large tumors " ? Are you

considering surgery? Without any knowledge other than what you have shared I

think if I were in that position, Id seek out the best and most confident

surgeon I cud find, and go for it. What about dr epstein's team in NY? I hear

they are good. I have had tumors that were very risky, maybe not as large as

yours but still dr's were not jumping with glee that i'd be ok, but i was ok.

The question might be if they are growing or not? And do the drs feel

attempting to remove is 100% too risky? you are in my prayers as most of you

are every night.

I can't imagine how you are feeling...this news must be very difficult to cope

with. These words seem so lame, there really isn't anything to cover what I

want to say to you. As a parent I can't experience the pain that NF2 has caused

in 's life, but I suppose that the instinctive mother-love kicks in, and

when she is feeling anxious and worried, I am too. There are just so many

courageous people on this site, you sound like a real fighter Bob and even

though we have never met I am sending you as much strength and hope that I can

right now. when i read the posts about everyones trials, particularly yours and

those of Lois and Mike (among so many other people) I feel humbled by the

amazing resilience of all with NF2.

Prayers and blessing on you

love Treacy

I am SO SORRY to hear about this Bob. Like everybody else, I feel

like saying " I'm sorry " seems so inadequate. Maybe they will come up

with some NEW treatment that will help you, that is what I keep

telling Lee about his sight. They are discovering things EVERY DAY

now.

I have received about 30 letters of sympathy from various members of the

crew.. I want to thank everyone for their prayers and thoughts!

About quality. The surgical team here at the U of M is arguably one of the

best in the country. I have talked with HEI, Mayo and another 2 other

neurology clinics. and they all have high regards for the team here. we

have some of the best medical in the world here.. I'm defiantly not worried

about the skill of Dr Levine, I trust and Like the guy...

And the tumors are growing.. very fast for NF2 tumors.

At this point they are not going to remove all the tumor. they are just

going to debulk. one of the things that HEI stated is, that to place the

ABI they would need to remove all of the tumor. and doing so would most

likely kill me...

I know I have posted this pic before.. This is the MRI of the tumors in

question.

How many times have you heard someone say one person can't change the world,

You know what I say to that ?

I have a dream

I know for a fact that I have changed many lives... And the lives that I

change will change others..

I have a dream

I have a dream my friends! A dream of everyone living in peace, In this

dream Black, White, Yellow men and Women, Gay and Strait, Christen and

Muslim will all live in peace.

I have a dream

I have a dream of the holy lands belonging to all men and women. In this

dream all the flags of the words countries, fly above the cities of Israel

that so many different cultures find holy. Much like south Antarctica is

now, no one country holds the dead.

I have a dream

This dream is the same dream of Luther King

This dream is for all men and Women

This dream is for all religions

This dream is for all of the Earth.. Not just man but every living thing

I have a dream

I close my eyes and I see the earth as one living being.. My death will be

much like the death f one of my skin cells..

Every time one of your skin cells dies you don't have a funeral and morn its

passing... because it is not gone. everything that made up the cell is

still here. it is changed, eaten by bugs of decayed into the earth for

other life to grow.

Death is an illusion..

There is no death.. there is only change...

BOB, THIS MOVED ME TO TEARS IT IS A BEAUTIFUL WAY TO LOOK AT OUR PASSING

FROM EARTH TO HEAVEN.
