BTW, just got my latest A1c done & it's 5.6%, down from 5.7%.

In reality, it's probably the same because that difference is certainly

within the test specs.

Dr is thrilled! He doesn't have anyone else even close to that!

Anyway, I'm happy :<)

Here's a chart from that site that compares HbA1c to average bg's. I hope

this makes it through to the list. Just FYI

If the chart doesn't survive, I'll just type it into a new post.

There is an organization, the National Glycohemoglobin Standardization

Program (NGSP)

that sets standards for a1c tests and results, and they are working hard to

provide standards and certification to trace results to the DCCT (the

trials

that showed the importance of tight control)

There's a place at this website to look up your own lab and see if it has

been certified. If it has, then the results will match with all the other

labs

that have been certified, so it is possible to compare a1c results across

various labs.
