Stop ignoring it (which you did by writing us) and take action and quickly! Any malnutrition or electrolyte imbalance will effect function and thinking as will stress. Because the brain is not a muscle organ, it will not be metabolized if you are lacking protein. First thing you should do is make the appointment with a special physician. Then begin keeping track of what your eating and drinking; when, what and how hungry are you letting yourself get??? Feeling lightheaded and dizzy could be a sign of a starvation induced electrolyte imbalance. It is very common for anorexics to be light headed, faint or pass out. I am not accusing you of being anorexic. However, I am pointing out that your concern for extra calories Vs being better nourished and clear thinking is leaning in that direction. Remember, the purpose of weight loss surgery is health, not to be thin at any cost. If you are keeping your metabolism in starvation mode and lacking nutrients you will not be clear headed as blood supply to the heart overrides the blood function to the brain. The symptoms you are describing are serious and should be attended to by a physician that is knowledgeable in eating disorders/bariatric surgery and malabsorption . . . I say eating disorders only because there are special nutritional considerations of which this type of physician is fully aware. With a 100cm bypass, there is no reason for you not to be able to be healthy, have an adequate well balanced diet, the proper vitamin/mineral supplementation . . . All while enjoying maintaining 160 of weight. Unless you are very tall and big boned, this weight is a healthy and maintainable weight. Make that appointment today as the sooner you do, the sooner you'll feel better. Your body is trying to tell you something, respect it. ) Vicki in CA
Guest guest
Being a VBG, malabsorption of protein, calories, or other micronutrients is not at issue. (Vitalady) had me try the ProScore 100 in chocolate mixed with crushed ice with a stick type hand blender and it is good enough that even my kids will take sips. I add nothing to it for flavor. ) Vicki In a message dated 09/25/2001 12:41:10 PM Pacific Daylight Time, divequeen2002@... writes: > I'm not RNY so shouldn't I get the whole > effect of the protein?
