must live VERY close. My surgery is tomorrow. I'm waiting up to

I know it's been a while since these replies came through. I have

not been online very much for the past week and a half. My last chemo

treatment (A/C) was a real doozie. It was Thursday a week and a half

ago. Except for last Tuesday evening, and most of Wednesday, I've

essentially been in bed ever since. Chemo fries my brain so I can't

think, or even read, for several days. I'm so tired I sleep most of

the time. This was only my second treatment, which will probably be

changed (Taxol) next time because my tumor does not seem to be

responding. My dog was killed last week when she sauntered out in our

road with a 55 MPH speed limit. Talk about a bad summer!

I'm working on getting a second opinion at the . I saw them

listed as a top cancer hospital in " US News and World Report. "

Dear -Frances,

I saw Dr. 30 years ago as a teenager because of thyroid

cancer. I got excellent treatment. I can only believe that a

facility in his name would only be the best.

As for the chemo, ask about Emend pronounced " amend " because one of

the reasons you may be sleeping so much is no the A/C but the

medications they are giving you to help with the nausea.

I would recomend anyone to my oncologist at the Cleveland Clinic,

she is kind and patient and will answer all your questions with

respect, at least that has been my experience with her. Her name is

Dr. Halle .
