Guest guest
Ok I feel like I'm chasing my tail on this now. I've been reading here and hearing on talkshoe with Hortoff that the ratio should be more than 20 and mine is 23.6. I don't understand if my ratio is over 20 how there could still be an issue. I've taken the tests that have been recommended so how do I know if my receptors are cleared (or if they were ever blocked)? Will there ever be a "happy place"?<<Posted by: "Nick Foot" lists@... nickrwymSat Feb 27, 2010 1:04 am (PST)>So does this means I do not have an rt3 issue any longer?Depends if you have RT3 lodged in the receptors.Getting RT3 down in the serum is easy, it takes longer to clear thereceptors and until they are cleared (assuming they were blocked) youwill still be suffering from the effects of the RT3.We know that if the serum level is brought right down to virtuallyzero that the receptors clear many weeks later. What we don't know isif they clear when there are still circulating levels in the serum butat a lower level.Nick>> Kem in Eugene <º)))><
Guest guest
;-) Not only am I chasing my tail but I can see I've gotten lost in the shuffle LOL. Nick I've never been on T3. I've been asking questions on this list for the past few weeks trying to figure out what RT3 is and if it could be an issue for me. I'm currently taking 3 1/2 gr. Naturethroid and the last rt3/t3 test I had while taking 2 1/2 gr. NT showed I did have some rt3 issues, ratio was 16.8. I just had some lingering mild hypo symptoms after being raised to 3 1/2 gr. and wanted to know why they aren't completely gone so I had another rt3 test and this time my ratio was 23.6 and I was doing the happy dance until you said something about receptors getting cleared... I'm not going to worry about it, the test ratio shows I do not have an rt3 issue so I'm going to work on getting my female hormones balanced out and live life as best as I can;-) You guys have been so much help with information, I always appreciate you guys. I'm going web read only so I will check in from time to time and say hi.<<Posted by: "Nick Foot" lists@... nickrwymSat Feb 27, 2010 2:12 pm (PST)>I don't understand if my ratio is over >20 how there could still be an issue. Will there ever be a "happy place"?How long have you been on T3??The experience here is it takes about 12 weeks plus or minus a weekfrom when you get rid of T4 in the mix to when receptors clear if youhave resistance.I don't know enough of your history, what are you on and has itcleared all hypo symptoms? If you are free of hypo symptoms and on a"normal" dose of thyroid support then there isn't a problem, carry onwith what you are doing. If your RT3 was a bit high but you didn't have appreciable resistancethen the changes you made were enough. Those of us who have had RT3 at high levels for any length of timehave resistance to thyroid hormone, this is from the blockedreceptors and it takes probably 6 weeks from when the serum levels areMUCH lower than the bottom of the range for these receptors to clear.NickPosted by: "Kem Tillford" Losinit4good@... fromthemommaSat Feb 27, 2010 10:44 am (PST)Ok I feel like I'm chasing my tail on this now.
