Kathleen,

You taking T3 only? SRT3?

To: RT3_T3 Sent: Wed, March 31, 2010 9:30:01 PMSubject: Should I Raise T3?

After taking a REALLY long time to get up to 75 mcg due to adrenal issues, I sucessfully raised from 75 mcg t3 to 87.5 t3 and was feeling much better, but then today, 4 days after the raise, my temps lowered, I got a terrible headache and I felt like I'd been hit by a truck. It's only been 4 days since my last raise, but I was wondering if I should raise again, and by how much? I DID try taking more HC and it did not raise my temp at all. In fact, this has been the pattern the past several weeks -- my temps seem steady but low and taking HC does not raise the temps, in fact, it lowers them! So I *think* my adrenals are doing okay now and I just need more t3.My temp averages for the past few weeks are:(luteal phase)98.6 -- after raising to 75 mcg 98.898.898.998.7 -- I think my thyroid compensated here or my t4 decayed, but I was scared to raise too fast98.698.498.698.598.498.2 -- Day 1

menstruation so temps dropped accordingly98.198.4 (after raising from 75 to 87.5)98.698.598.2 -- this is today's average and coincides with feeling hit by a truck and the bad headacheI *think* these temps show stable but low and that today shows my thyroid compensating (or decaying t4) 4 days after I raised to 87.5.Should I stay at 87.5 and see if the temps stay low, or should I just bump and by how much? I am taking sr 3 times/day, am, aftrnoon and bedtime. After MUCH experimenting, this works for me and believe me, I have tried it all. :-)I am just nervous to raise because of all the adrenal issues in the past, but I do think these temps show stable adrenals and just low t3, right? Is is okay to raise every 4 days if needed? Thanks,Kathleen

Yes, t3 only and it is the SR t3. I know it doesn't work for everyone, but it

works better for me, anyway.

Just wondered - during pregnency doesn't the mother have to be on t4 meds, cause

that is what the baby is using until it has its own thyroid or if he can't make

enough for himself?

wanted to know if I should Decrease my T3. Well, the last few days I haven't

had loose stools but instead a bit of constipation and my afternoon temps are a

steady 98.1. Feeling rather tired too and intolerant to heat. I'm on 100 mcg

of T3. Do you think I should raise my T3 another 12.5mcg? I just had labs done

this past Tuesday and i'm hoping those results will be in by Monday/Tuesday of

next week. Should I wait till I get the results to raise? I'm a little worried

that I'll be on too much T3 when my RT3 clears (I'm almost to week 12)too and

have to deal with some really unpleasant symptoms as the T3 pours into my cells.

Thank you for your advice.

No, she was around 7 lbs, same as my son. Surprisingly, I had a normal

pregnancy in both instances, despite severe insomnia. Both children seem

exceptionally healthy and intelligent but have eczema.

Neither of my kids were large either(7 lbs 4 oz), but both have eczema and food

allergies. Possibly linked to me being hypo (undiagnosed and untreated) when I

was pregnant.

Well Val, you have certainly had a huge contribution in my making it this far so

that's worth an auntie or grandmother status :]

On a side note, my afternoon temperature was 98.8 today!!!! I was expecting it

to be low since I've had a busier than normal day, on my feet alot but I sat

down and rested and then took my temp and wow! Think I'm getting to that

breakthrough??

Thanks so much,

Does a high temp mean you're getting closer to a breakthrough and should

actually start cutting down your T3? Just curious.

, I envy you for being able to treat your RT3 in pregnancy. I only wish

I had known what to do and self treated for both of mine. Now I worry that my

children may have a thyroid condition and I wonder if things could have been

different if I had been treated properly.

Anyway, best of luck to you!

Yes. She was 9 pounds at birth. Her head was the circumference

of an 11 pound baby. Our doctor at the time swore I had gestational diabetes. I

did not. I tested my glucose levels several times a day because my

parents are diabetic. Our doctor said she would drop in the growth charts immediately.

She never did.
