Guest guest
Hello My daughter who is 13 has been on the diet since October. Recently when my husband made yogurt he put vanilla(the legal kind) in the mixture and then it fermented for 24 hours. I am wondering if the vanilla will cause a problem with the process in the yogurt maker? Thanks for your time to answer my questions. Guest guest
Kim- this is what I think about additives to the yogurt. You heat the milk to 180 degrees to kill off any bacteria, so you essentially start with sterilized milk. I realize making the yogurt is not exactly sterile procedure- but if you add anything to it that you did not heat to boiling, then you may be introducing something else to culture that you do not want. You can add the vanilla to the yogurt after you incubate it and in the fridge it should be fine. Just my own 2 cents PJ > > Hello > My daughter who is 13 has been on the diet since October. Guest guest
Kim I don't write on here that often anymore since Rach is doing so well. But I just wanted to say that my daughter who recently turned 14 also started the diet in October. It just caught my eye that your daughter is 13 and started in October.
