Guest guest
Do you have any strictures? Since shrimp is a little stringy, it might be an issue if you do. I eat shrimp without problems, but I didn't have the nerve to try it until 3 months or so into the diet. I'd probably have been okay with it earlier though. Guest guest
Just thought I'd let you know something I just discovered. I've had shrimp the past 2 nights. It was the first time we bought raw and cooked it ourselves. The best shrimp I've ever had! The flavor was fantastic! Did you buy pre-cooked or raw shrimp? Perhaps that would make a difference in how you tolerate it, because it seems like they usually have some sort of preservative (don't remember the name) in the pre-cooked stuff. Guest guest
Hi Holly, thanks for this as I can't have meat so I'm pretty limited in ideas for protein. What do you have your shrimp with in terms of sauce / seasoning? Thanks, GERDS and chronic C. SCD 1 yr > > Just thought I'd let you know something I just discovered. Guest guest
I have to agree that the raw shrimp that we boil at home is sooo tasty and so quick to make. It's basically done once the pot hits a boil. We often throw it in the food processor and mix with mayo and s & p and just make a salad. My kids love it that way. When we were just starting the diet we put the salad on the " Nut Free Dairy Free " bread on the pecanbread site (I used 1/2 avocado in place of the veggies) and it was actually pretty good! > > > > Just thought I'd let you know something I just discovered. Guest guest
Hi , I didn't add anything to the shrimp, it was very tasty all by itself! Can you eat cheese? Something I find very good to eat with shrimp is Monterrey jack " cheese lace " . You just cut little cubes of cheese and bake them in the oven until they're bubbly and browning around the edges. Very yummy! Holly > > > > Just thought I'd let you know something I just discovered. I've had shrimp the past 2 nights. It was the first time we bought raw and cooked it ourselves. Guest guest
Thank you Holly and Kelley for the suggestions. I'm happy to have found an alternative to fish and eggs. > > > > > > Just thought I'd let you know something I just discovered. I've had shrimp the past 2 nights. Guest guest
I do my shrimp in butter, a little dry white wine, with a little garlic, scampi style. It’s very, very good. n From: BTVC-SCD [mailto:BTVC-SCD ] On Behalf Of nicole.prieur Sent: Thursday, April 30, 2009 7:48 AM To: BTVC-SCD Subject: Re: shrimp Thank you Holly and Kelley for the suggestions. Guest guest
I've found that shrimp tossed with home-made pesto sauce and perhaps served with pine nuts (if you can digest them), sliced tomatoes, and blue/gorgonzola cheese on top is delicious!
