I got my Digiwalker pedometer in the mail at work yesterday and of course left

it sitting on my filing cabinet! I wanted to calibrate it by walking at the

track last night. :(

Today it is storming and raining like heck so I may just put on my old

inaccurate pedometer and see where that goes!

Bette,

If I wasn't running, I have no idea how I would reach 10,000 steps a day.

I only run 3x's a week and today is not one of those days. I guess I'll

just have to wait and see how well (or bad) I do w/out the running. =)

I think the best part of this is to just have a number to work off of. It

gives me a goal and also gives me feedback on how much I'm actually moving

during the day. If my steps are low that week and I don't have a good

loss, I'll probably increase my activity. Personally, I'm constantly in

competition w/ myself.

Good luck today.

Hi ,

On both Monday and Tuesday I only made it to 4-thousand-something steps. I

didn't write it down. It's a long long way to 10,000!

Great numbers! It really is tough to hit 10,000. I didn't do it today,

even w/ Curves. 6,000 steps even steven. Oh well. =)

Tuesday I made it to 7,665. No exercise...just spent the whole day cleaning

up after one sick kid and comforting one scared one( away from mom and dad for

the first time and thinks that throwing up is scarry). Didnt even get dishes

or laundry in . However...I think I burned off a lot more calories using upper

arm movements ( scrubbing and so forth) so it may have totalled 10,00 steps

worth of activity !

Thanks, ! I agree with this....I'm not going to let a high number that

" seems " unreachable discourage me! This is something I've learned over the

past 10 months on WW.... not to look ahead to the overwhelming BIG number, but

rather to focus on one day at a time, one 10-lbs at a time, and now maybe 100

steps at a time! This is going to be fun!

,

I discovered something funny during yesterday's step counting... I checked

the pedometer every now and then to see if it was looking like a reasonable

count for what was going on. I discovered that when I went to (pardon the

vernacular) . . . pee, the movement of taking pants down and pulling them back

up

really jarred the ped, and it added 30 or 40 steps!! LOL. Doesn't that make

you wonder what ELSE the thing might add points for? LOL!

It's amazing how much exercise you can get just from cleaning house. Maybe

that's why I love it so much. =)

I was going through a funky time w/ my old job and my husband suggested I

start a housekeeping business. If I wasn't concerned that I might not

enjoy cleaning my own house anymore, I probably would have done it. =)
