Guest guest
What's making you not try? Fast Track worked! Losing weight in my opinion is the best motivator out there. I'm not really familiar with Fast Track but is it something you can do over and over again? Cheyenne > Morning All, > > I have been reading a lot, but not responding too much. I am having a real hard time lately. I have a good week and then 3 bad ones. I have been losing and gaining the same weight since Dec. I just cannot seem to get past this point. I tried Fast Track and did really well. However, I went back to just not trying again. > > Anyone have any tricks or motivational tools that I could try? > > Thanks, > Jill > >
Guest guest
Jill - I am really sorry you are having so much trouble getting on track. I know this sounds really stupid, and I have never done this before because I thought it was ridiculous, but I hung a picture on my refrigerator. I was looking through a magazine when I started and I saw a great dress, and I decided I wanted that dress for Easter, but only if I could buy a size 8. Well, it's a week before Easter and I'm very comfortably in an 8. Also, I really think my biggest reason for weight loss was my change in cooking habits. I have totally changed the way I am cooking. I almost never use convenience type foods for dinner anymore - I use easy WW recipes and have found they're great. I also rarely eat fast food - that seems like such an obvious change, but it was not a difficult habit to drop and it has made a huge difference. Good luck to you! Guest guest
Jill, I went through a period like that too.. I just kept going through the motions, and I started setting goals and decided how I would reward myself for those goals, and pretty soon the motivation came back. Hang in there! in OKC <>< 238/189.2/188 > Morning All, > > I have been reading a lot, but not responding too much. I am having a real hard time lately. I have a good week and then 3 bad ones. Guest guest
Jill, Here's the thing, and you're not going to enjoy hearing this, but the only way to " get that motivation back " is to just FORCE yourself to get motivated. Yea, lots of us go off track at times. We get in a rut food-wise, life happenings get in the way, we don't plan to succeed and end up succeeding at failing, and sometimes we just lose the energy or desire to keep pushing. When that happens, there are several things you can do (one of which is just give up totally, but I recommend NOT doing that one). My journey has taken almost three years in total, and I've been where you are on several occasions. Here's some things that have helped me. (It may not help you, YOU and only YOU can find your inner desire again.) I made myself get through ONE GOOD ON-PROGRAM DAY. Each morning, I just concentrated and told myself to stick with the program, do everything I needed to do for that one day. I kept that up until that one day turned into several weeks. Fake it until you make it. I set a short-term goal for myself, something that would only take a few weeks. I made charts, graphs, and posters to record my progress towards this goal and posted them all around my house. This helped me regain some much needed " weight loss " momentum. I took something out of my closet that I really wanted to be able to wear, but that was too tight. I hung it from a hanger on the front of my closet so I had to see it every morning when I got up, to remind me of my goal and why it was important for me. I got on the Internet and surfed for motivational weight loss stories. Here's a website that has tons: http://dmoz.org/Health/Weight_Loss/Personal_Pages/. Reading about other people and their amazing triumphs inspires me. I also started a journal, just to record my thoughts. I didn't have to keep it everyday, it was just around when I needed to express something, usually a thought about food. Do some daily meditation. Close your eyes and focus on what you will look and feel like at goal. See yourself healthy, happy, and laughing. Think positively and try to avoid negative self-talk. As you can see, all these things have one thing in common: me taking an active role in trying to get my motivation back. Willpower and motivation are just words that we GIVE meaning to. You actually CONTROL whether you have them or not, so take that control. Be your own personal weight loss coach. You have to decide if this weight loss is something you really WANT and NEED. If it is, then do you WANT or NEED it bad enough to step it up and succeed? April > Morning All, > > I have been reading a lot, but not responding too much. I am having a real hard time lately.
