Mara,

May I ask how often and how much Pepto are you taking? It has a long safety record. You just have to make sure you're not overdosing ( which I'm sure you're not)

Pepto Bismol

> Taking Tylenol regularly is liver toxic- just an FYI. Not that I am > trying to scare you- you know what is best for your body!On a similar note, I started using Pepto Bismol, which I'm finding works well -I had some situations where I had to do things that stressed me a bit in themornings, and Pepto really helped with that in terms of coating the stomachto counterbalance the stress (my system seems to be very reactive evento minimal stress + one often sleeps less and that seems to enhance thebodily stress as well)However, I'm just wondering if anyone knows whether it has negativeeffects if used more often than rarely.???Mara

Just a note on Pepto Bismul:

Those of us with Crohn's or ulcerative colitis are not supposed to take

non-steroidal antinflammatories (known as NSAIDs), which includes aspirin and

Ibuprofen. I just spoke to a pharmacist who said that those of us who can't

take NSAIDs should also steer clear of Pepto, as it has salicylates in it. Just

wanted to pass on what I learned tonight. I'm taking Zantac instead for my

heartburn that I have right now.

It's a jungle out there, ain't it?

Did he say anything about natural salicylates? There are quite a few fruits and

veggies that contain it.

Oh, I would not think those would be anything akin to NSAIDs. I wouldn't worry

about fruits and veggies.
