Guest guest
Mara, May I ask how often and how much Pepto are you taking? It has a long safety record. You just have to make sure you're not overdosing ( which I'm sure you're not) Terry Pepto Bismol > Taking Tylenol regularly is liver toxic- just an FYI. Not that I am > trying to scare you- you know what is best for your body!On a similar note, I started using Pepto Bismol, which I'm finding works well -I had some situations where I had to do things that stressed me a bit in themornings, and Pepto really helped with that in terms of coating the stomachto counterbalance the stress (my system seems to be very reactive evento minimal stress + one often sleeps less and that seems to enhance thebodily stress as well)However, I'm just wondering if anyone knows whether it has negativeeffects if used more often than rarely.???Mara
Guest guest
Just a note on Pepto Bismul: Those of us with Crohn's or ulcerative colitis are not supposed to take non-steroidal antinflammatories (known as NSAIDs), which includes aspirin and Ibuprofen. I just spoke to a pharmacist who said that those of us who can't take NSAIDs should also steer clear of Pepto, as it has salicylates in it. Just wanted to pass on what I learned tonight. I'm taking Zantac instead for my heartburn that I have right now. It's a jungle out there, ain't it? CD 11 years SCD 2 years > > > Taking Tylenol regularly is liver toxic- just an FYI. Guest guest
Did he say anything about natural salicylates? There are quite a few fruits and veggies that contain it. Guest guest
Oh, I would not think those would be anything akin to NSAIDs. I wouldn't worry about fruits and veggies.
