Guest guest
I believe there is a yogurt recipe for amounts of starter added to the milk on the SCD website. Heat the milk and then let it cool before adding the starter. The starter yogurt contains the " good " bacteria you want, and heating them will kill them. Guest guest
I use Fage. I've been using half of a small container of Fage, (probably about 1/2 cup). i just mix it with the warm milk after the milk has cooled to below 110*. DO NOT heat the Fage, you will kill all the bacteria! I hope this procedure is correct, since it's what I've been doing for the past weeks. Anybody, tell me if I'm wrong on any of this please!AlyssaI would like to try Fage as a starter in my yogurmet machine. Please advise proceedure.Do you heat the Fage with the milk? Please include amounts. Guest guest
BTW, Alyssa. While Fage is great yogurt, it does not contain acidophilus - so suggest you obtain a source for that elsewhere, either in a supplement or by purchasing a yogurt starter that does contain acidophilus.
