Im so sorry that you are feeling like we arent responding to you. I

do not remember seeing any posts from you, but will go back and check

for them. Please stay with us, sometimes people do not respond

because they dont have the answer that you are seeking, sometimes its

just that people are really busy. Its not a personal thing. Please

let me know how I can support you along this journey and I will

gladly help.

Sorry you're feeling that way. Maybe no one new the answer to your question? Or if they are like me, I don't have time to read all the posts so I scan the subject lines and read what I can, when I can. The folks here are really friendly and helpful and I really don't think anyone is deliberately trying to answer. If you have to, keep posting the same question till somebody answers. You are most welcome here.

Yes, of course we read your post(s). I think all of us have experienced the

feeling that no one is listening to US, because when we write it is always

about something that is very important to US. Sometimes there is no response

because no one has a similar experience and can't relate to what you wrote

about. Sometimes, lives just get hectic. But, I do recommend to stick with

us--tell us your name (fake, if you want), and re-write your question. I'm

sure someone will respond.

All best in your journey.

Hi Bee:

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger. I am feeling the exact way you are.

I recently posted about not being able to have my weight loss surgery

completed because while under the knife the doctor found a tumor in

my stomach. I am still reeling from that news. I posted because I

thought many people on this message board would be interested in what

happened to me but I only got a few responses as well. I understand

how busy people's lives are and that they might not have the time to

post as often as they would like. I try not to take it personally

but when something is important to us we want some type of validation

or a nod in our direction to confirm that we are being heard. I

have found this site to be incredibly helpful in my weight loss

journey and the people here are amazing. This is still the first and

last place I check on the Internet daily. It's a great board with

wonderful people so don't get too discouraged and leave because you

will lose out on some great information from some very informed folks.

As for the chat room, I did not even know it existed. Hope this

helps.

HI Bee,

You are not doing anything wrong. There are a lot of people that join but really don't participate. They just sit back and take in the knowledge available from other's post. I am not sure whether you got my response to your email. I got something back about being undeliverable but I am not sure if it was the one to you or the one to Shell. Anyway just keep writing. I am glad that you are enjoying our group. It really is a good group of people.

Martha, you are so funny!

Re:

I am feeling discouraged...

For some reason, some of my messages end up in the

Junk folder with a

label " SPAM " . I hardly ever look in that

folder. And there you are! Your

messages, I mean!

I don't know why this is. Don't think you're doing

anything wrong...

could be your weird yahoo address, which looks

like one of those random

codes that spammers use.

Anyway, hang in there and don't go away.

Also, I don't always respond because

a. I'm 2 years out so I let the newer, more

up-to-date folks deal with

preop and immediate postop issues

b. I work 3 jobs

c. I'm a crab, a crank, and a curmudgeon. Ask

anybody!

" All of the above " is the correct

answer!

Hi B,

First of all . . . sorry if I have not responded to your messages. It IS

a lot easier to answer a direct question . . . sometimes I am just at

loss as to what to say. Also . . . sometimes life just gets ahead of us

- for me, I've been incredibly busy in the last few months and just

lately had to deal with the loss of internet access.

I think that many of us have felt like we do not belong . . . not

necessarily here . . . but on other lists or in other in-person groups

or whatever. I don't think that you are doing anything wrong . . .

however, please remember that it might take a little while to really

feel part of a group. Also, what we get out of a group often is a direct

reflection of what we put into it. So . . . post any questions you have,

vent any frustrations, celebrate any successes, cheer on or commiserate

with others in the group - in other words, give us a chance to get to

know you.

Take care,

Kay
