Guest guest
hi what is it mean : duble " punching bag " ? and what is bivid uvula? /jessica mom to nathalie 11 and saga 3.10 year (rss) I had never heard of a bivid uvula until I looked inside of Max's mouth when he was an infant and saw this double " punching bag " thing in the back of his mouth. It was so strange! No one has ever said anything about it being a possible part of RSS, though. I wonder how many other kids have this, too? I guess you and I and all the other parents will never stop wondering which characteristics of our RSS kids are common among the majority. Guest guest
, The uvula is the thing that hangs down at the back of your throat. It looks like a punching bag that boxers use when they practice their punches. Max's looks like sometime in his fetal development it began to split into two, but it did not quite make it. It looks like there are two attached " punching bags " hanging from the back of his throat. The only remarkable thing I remember the doctors saying is that it was an indication of weakness in the back of Max's palate and throat and that he would need speech therapy to help strengthen it. We did that and it worked.
