Guest guest
Hi Steph, Thanks for your thoughts for those north of the border. The fires are not just in and around Sydney, they are State wide. We on the South Coast were without electricity on Christmas Day for 36 hours, (temp was 38 deg, no fridge, no water, 60klm winds and 15 relatives staying with us for the holidays, I'll never forget this Christmas)!! At the moment the Far South Coast has a 20klm fire front heading our way, and we are all on alert to evacuate. It's pretty scarey as there is no where for us to go except the beach, as the two access roads north and south have been closed due to the fires. This fire we are facing was caused by lightening strikes a week before Christmas and has gotten out of hand by the fierce winds, high temperatures, low humidity and the remote location where it started, which has prevented any one being able to extinguish it. This is the third bushire we have gone through and although heart breaking, we all realise it is part and parcel of living in the bush. Thanks again for your thoughts, and lets hope for rain, rain and more more rain. ne > Hi Jody, and any others in NSW - thanks for the " buzz " - being so > busy over the past week I failed to remember we had anyone living > in/near Sydney... hope everything is going OK, the smoke isn't too > bad and no-one you know is affected.
