(Or my lungs' excellent oxygen-transfer ability.) And when I say 'always,' I mean as a teen I used to think: " this is cool! I can freak people out by showing 'em this! " (I'm 54 and still think it's pretty cool!) My theory has always been that it's because when you take a deep breath, you give the heart/blood a big dose of oxygen, so it doesn't need to keep pushing so hard to send oxygenated blood around the body. I've had it when I was thin and fat -- so I don't think it's related to that. And I find it cool, not worrisome.
