Guest guest
HI Carolyn. I lived in Denver for 5 yrs and was just diagnosed with vuvlodynia when I moved 2 yrs ago. This Dr. Melmed, believes strongly in the oxalate theory. Do you know if that is the only path he pursues in regards to vulvar disorders? or does he also treat other ways? Thanks I am going to Denver on a trip in Oct and know right where he practices. SNOFYREpain_b_gone wrote: Dear Gemma,I am so happy for you that you have found a way to fund your trip tothe US. It is very generous of your relatives to do so. That was agreat idea for you to ask them. There is a doctor, Herzl Melmed, M.D.in Denver Colorado who specializes in vulvar vestibulitis and will dooxalate testing. Here are two numbers for him. 1- and1-. Dr Melmed is a very caring, special individual. Notyour typical doctor, it would seem. Here also are two fax numbers:1- and 1-. (He has two office's in the Denverarea.)Good luck with setting up all of your apptments. I hope you begin tofind some answers--this has been such a long and difficult road foryou and this wonderful idea you had to ask for financial help fromyour relatives--even though it must have been hard to do, could be aturning point in your life, Gemma! I hope so . Getting these testsdone is a great start, but keep in mind that your answers will notnecessarily come 'overnight'. There are still hurdles ahead of you andthe testing, follow-up etc all take time. You have shown yourself tobe a 'problem-solver' though, and this will be one of your greateststrengths as you procede down your road to recovery.I am just so happy for your great news, Gemma!Keep us posted!CarolLynn __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Dear Snofyre, Well, I saw him last month for the first time and he seems like a great physician......but you ask a good question--one I'm also wondering about myself. He does seem very married to the oxalate treatment, but that is only an impression that i have and am not certain about. I hope to see him sometime in September and my goal will be to explore other things with him if he is open to them and i guess i won't know that till my next visit. I wonder if you called him and asked that very question...see how they respond.... Sorry not to be more helpful!
