BOB,

IN ANSWER TO WOULD I BE WILLING TO GIVE UP SOME FACE TO HAVE MY HEARING

BACK????/

ABSOLUTELY NOT I WOULD IF I HAD KNOW ABOUT FACIAL PARALYSIS I WOULD HAVE

CHOSEN TO BE DEAF SOONER... TO ME DEAF IS MUCH EASIER TO HANDLE THAN THE

MANY PROBLEMS CAUSED BY FACIAL PARALYSES.

I do think the facial appearance is more important to females though...

But it was asked of Helen Keller.. if she could have one of the two (Sight

or hearing) back she picked Hearing.

But it someone that is both sighted and hearing probably would choose

hearing to go. why ? because Helen Keller choice hearing because that is

were language comes... A person that was born hearing already knows

language so that would not be a factor.

Aand I also think deafness allows you more independence than blindness,

which is important to me. Marie

I wonder if she would make the same choice if she were to choose today, with

the changes made to try to improve the deaf world. I know without the

slightest doubt I would choose physical disability , in spite of the loss of

independence, over hearing loss.
