Guest guest
OK for those who have taken cruises or won trips to places.... help! I got a phone call today (on my answering machine) from Security Travel USA. They said I won a 4 day, 3 night Discovery Cruise to the Bahamas. They left a message for me to call a number (long distance) for details. I called the number and it was a "generic" message... "Hello, let me tell you about the package you've won.........." Anyway, it said they pay for everything except the trip to and from Ft Lauderdale Florida where the cruise leaves from (only about 3 hours from here so that's no problem), a $77.50 registration fee per person and the $99 per person port fees and personal purchases and tips. They pay for the meals, cruise and hotel in Freeport Bahamas. They said I have to pay $77.50 by Thursday and they will mail me my package. I can pay in person at one of their 5 locations but rather than drive to Florida, I can give them my credit card number and save me that trip. I have 30 days to pay the other $77.50 for the second person and then I have 18 months to book the trip and I have to pay the port fees when I book the trip. How does this sound? Legit? I've never been on a cruise so I don't have a clue and I've never "won" a trip so I know you have to pay the taxes, etc. Is that what this is or is it a scam?
