Guest guest
Hi Ren, I know that a lot of people say to stay away from soy. But I do not see any scientific evidence to support it. Most of what I see is just based on the fact that there is the word estrogen in phytoestrogens. Well, plant estrogens and animal estrogens act differently. And I tend to be much more concerned about meat and the likes than soy. We all know that hormone cattle free is not so easy to find... Now, back to soy. One of the things that I think a lot is about the fact that Asian women do not have a higher rate of hormone related cancers (or other diseases) then we do. And their diets are full of soy products. Just a thought. I still have a lot of research to do and ask my onc about it too. And I will wait a bit more time to see if my " fluids " come back naturally. What I will not settle for is, like Ruth said, to loose the " fe " of female!! I am in my best years!! I guess I have a different approach to life than some people. But, again, just my opinion and I still have a lot to learn about this option before I try it. Hugs and thanks for your info! rendurall@... wrote: The information that my onc. gave me agrees with nne, stay away from it totally. ren

Guest guest
Amen, brother......er sister. Neither one of us is going to lose the " fe " from our female! One of the big reasons I am sticking with my oncologist is that he allows me to use vagifem while on the Arimidex and he knows I won't be talked into anything that I feel compromises my quality of life! Guest guest
Hi everyone, We eat soy products at least once a day at our house. From what I've read, plus I asked 2 oncologists and my surgeon, the jury is out on the healthful vs. harmful effects of soy. However, all of the physicians said it may help but certainly isn't going to hurt me. One oncologist commented on a study of Japanese women who consume a substantial amount of soy in their homeland, who subsequently immigrate to the U.S., now have the same risk factor of breast cancer as other Americans. She only cautioned not to eat more than 2 pounds per day and not to take soy " supplements " in the form of a pill. 2 pounds of soy is a lot of soy! So, I plan to continue with my soy protein milk, burgers, etc. Janet B. > The information that my onc. gave me agrees with nne, stay away from it > totally. > > ren > >
