I went into the hospital on 1/27/03 at 8:00 am (surgery was scheduled for

10:30 am), and was released to go home on 1/29/03 at 8:30 am. I had a

myomectomy (fibroid was 10 cm) and cystectomy (on both ovaries). I also had

endometriosis on my ovaries. I think my total surgery time was approx. one

hour and fifteen minutes. Best of luck to you.

Regards,

Sheila

Nikki:

My doctor indicated I lost VERY LITTLE blood (not even worth mentioning)--I

think he said something like a " teaspoon " ; however, he may have used some

leading edge laser, surgical technique--anyway, I regard him as leading edge.

I have a 6 inch bikini incision and he didn't even cut my muscles!

I can empathize with your " worry " . I am the resident " worrier " ; however,

over time I have tempered my " worry " with self-talk. My mind gets very

creative and conjures various worse-case, " what-if " scenarios. I try to tell

myself to " live in the here and now " , but the difficulty is convincing

myself.

I found that " Knowledge " is the solution for me. The more answers I get to

my questions, the less I worry. So, my advice is to ask away--even if you

think your question is totally ridiculous; because, trust me, it is not.

Someone else is asking (or has asked) the same question. My myomectomy was

my FIRST surgery. I did not know what to expect; however, I felt my doctor

was on my side. I knew he would do what was in MY best interest and not his.

Has anyone had to take progesterone pills called Norethindrone while getting

Lupron injections? I had my first injection 2 weeks ago and just received a

call from the doc's office telling me they are calling in this prescription

for me. I need to take one a day.

Can anyone tell me their experience with these 2 mixtures and what they are

suppose to do?

I am scheduled for Abdominal Myo surgery June 2nd. Diagnosed with

grapefruit size fibroid on the outside uterine wall embedded into the

muscle. Ouch!

Had severe lower back pain that moved up into the upper abdomen. I was put

on muscle relaxer meds. I have dealing with the pain since November, 2002.

Last week went to the doc's and almost started crying because of the pain.

Can't bend over to put my shoes on, cant sleep on my back, cant sneeze or do

anything else. They finally gave me a " pain " injection called Toredol.

Today, I feel like a new person.

I would like to know if anyone else had to do the combination of Lupron and

Norethindrone and how they felt. Any side effects from these two?

Thank You!
