G,

The prospect of any kind of medical procedure, especially surgery, is

daunting and scary. But, you've made the decision and that is tough, too. A

friend of mine told me and my husband who recently had surgery, to just

concentrate on putting one foot in front of the other and you'll get through

it. I had a UAE in Nov and was also frightened. I was so glad once it was

over and the recovery process began. Good luck to you and let us know how

you do.

OK, sending good vibes from Long Island, New York. Note that, as

everyone knows, there aren't too many good vibes on LI to begin with,

so I had to go collect some from upstate, but I think I've gotten a

good bunch together, so here they are for you! I too am coming to

the end of my waffling and am about to schedule...

Best to you on your decision, and especially on the

17th. Many of us were very nervous about surgery too.

Just let us know how we can help out with questions,

info, support, whatever.

I'm so happy for you having made a decision. I think that can be the

hardest part of all. Really, really, you'll be fine. I'm now 2

weeks post myo, and I've started feeling so much better than the

first week.

My abdomen is still sore, still need stretchy, draw-string pants, but

I don't get tired anymore. Yesterday the doc took off the strips

over the suture mark, definitely a scar, but it is really quite low

and the doc said it looked great.

The surgery itself is easy (because you are knocked out), it's really

the first few days/week that are the toughest, just have a lot of

support around you, it really helps.

My wishes to you on the day, I'll send lots lot of good, healing

thoughts your way.

:

Hang in there--you will be fine. Before you know it, you will be seven weeks

post-myo like myself! I will keep you in my prayers.

P.S. my doctor gave me Xanax--since this was my first surgery ever (I am 50),

it help me sleep the night before surgery.
