Hi Cecilia,

We are all human and to err is human and all that . . . of course, that

doesn't really help, does it? It is so easy to beat ourselves up -

and, of course, that doesn't help either.

Have you taken a good look at what is going on when you give in to a

craving? Are you bored, upset, sad or whatever? I know that food

really calls to me when I am bored or upset.

The following is from the "Pouch Rules for Dummies." I found it helpful

- sorta like permission to forgive myself and get back on track.

Rules are made to be broken. No biggie if the

patient drinks

with one meal – as long as the patient knows he/she is breaking a rule

and

will get hungry early. Also if the patient pigs out at a party – that’s

OK

because before surgery, the patient would have pigged on 3000 to 5000

calories

and with the pouch, the patient can only pig on 600-1000 calories max. The

patient needs to just get back to the rules and not beat him/herself up.

Carbs can be really addictive for some

folks. You might need to go back to basics for a bit - 'til the

addictive whatever is out of your system.

Hope that today finds you fending off the carb monster.

Take care,

Kay

Hi Lesa,

I'll include a link to the "Pouch Rules for Dummies." It reads like it

was written for doctors - not full of medical jargon, but as though it

were instructing doctors how to help their patients. I find it helpful

and hope that others will, as well.
