You have lived through 3-4 food holidays since your start, and that is nothing to sneeze at !I have only made it past Valentines day, and it was a non event because of my dad's death. My first challenge - Easter is comming up. Those Cadbury Carmel eggs sure sound good ! My plan is to avoid them all togethere. But the reality side of me says I will probably eat a few...but will get right back on program come monday morning. It's something that I love and that has made me a true believer in it. We can HAVE our Cadbury eggs (or whatever we crave) and STAY on program, with or without using our flex points!! We don't need to have that mind-set that says I'll go off program, eat my Cadburys and go BACK on program on Monday! Instead, all we have to do is plan for the special food that is calling to us. Insert it INTO our program instead of going off program! If you haven't tried this, I'd love to suggest that you do try it. It's working for me, and has worked for many others here on this group! Exactly ! For me its a weird sort of mindset that I am trying to break...I all it the endless holiday logic. It was the thing that really derailed me last time I did weight watchers( from a 75 lb weight loss on the points system) and I am bound and determined not to fall into that trap again. It starts out simple...I have pioints, and I can use them on anything, so its no problem spending the 4 points on the carmel egg....in theory. However, chocolatre is a serious downfall for me ( I think it is the sugar) , and one simply is not enough. So we have two...then the whole pack of the 4 , justifying that I will simply exercise more tomorrow. Then tomorrow rolls around and I am still dealing with the sugar jones...nothing satisfies, and I get so overpoweringly hungry the next day I blow it. And the next day, saying we will get back on program next week. Which stretches into two weeks, then a month...... its a kind of blood sugar roller coaster thing that grabs me and will not let me go. Its absolutely physical...accompanied with the shakes, dizzyness and mood swings like you only hear about in horror stories. If I never touch the stuff, I am fine. If I have home made plain yogert with cocoa powder and splenda, no problem. But combime chocolate and refined sugar and its a whole nother ball game. Even though in theory I have the points and can spend them, there is a lot more to it than simply allowing points for various foods. Some things are just like an allergy for some people...chocolate is one of those for me. And in the grand scheme of things, its not such a bad thing to do without really. However, if I do give in, I have to find a way to get a grip and fast. That part is my chalenge ! Guest guest
Yikes, Flidais, that's a deep-seated mind-set trap. But it sounds like you're well aware of what you have to do to defeat it. The WW leaders keep telling us how we have to replace old mind-tapes with new ones, but it's easier to know and say than to do isn't it? Best wishes to you for success in winning this battle of chocolate! Bette

Then standing there, facing them like so many fire breathing dragons in a cave with you is another thing. And somebody doused you in kerosene the second you set foot in there. I dont think there are any standard answers to this one...its something that each of us has to learn how to deal with in our own way. Getting tired is another battle I need to face. Getting tired of chopping up veggies and salads, getting tired of calculating points and so forth. Getting tired of making sugar free jello and portioning it out. Its kind of a routine sort of thing that just gets old after a while. I am trying different tricks to eliminating these...like sitting down at a table in front of the tv and chopping veggies to a favorite DVD.( at the moment the old Green Acres series) Both the veggies and the jello are importaint factors in our house ( 3 of us doing WW together and both of these are good snacks for all of us). I keep trying to figure new strategies to keep me psyched with these.
