Guest guest
How many days does the nasea last after the a/c treatments? My wife had her first on Thursday of last week. She had a bad start as they gave her 4mg of Ativan to relax her during the instal of her passport (she was very nervous) and that left her very spacey going into the a/c. They gave her fluids on top of the a/c to help wear off the ativan but it gave a bad start to a hard process. She was sick from 4 hours after the treatment (despite the Aloxi) and has not felt really well since. The first few days the Ativan made her sleep constantly but that seemed to be the only way to control her nausea. Unfortunately that made it hard to get fluids in her. Friday she had her scheduled fluids but as Saturday I was only able to get her to drink 20oz of Jamba juice with Protein (she is hypo glycemic so a lack of protein is a problem). We have shifted to .5mg of Compazine and Zofran (depite that the Aloxi should still be blocking any additional benifits for another day). Today she manage a Balance Bar for protein and has had a 7oz capri sun. So the real question is how long the nausea will last after each treatment? How hard do I push her to drink (Dr's are asking for 1-2 liters a day of fluids) If the first was this bad will the rest just get worse and worse? Anyone have any thing that on top of the drugs made the nausea more tolerable.
