Guest guest
So it actually " improved " your bone density? thanks so much, flo after I switched from carbonate to citrate, added boron and ostivone [ipriflavone] my bone density went from osteoporosis to osteopenia in one hip and back to normal in the spine and other hip. I then added the walking and weight training program so I expect continued improvement and less break down of bone this coming year. sue

Guest guest
, I have a question.....How much do we VBG'ers absorb? I know we don't malabsorb as much as rny people but I am wondering if we are lower than normal folks? any ideas anyone? Sandi Mesquite, TX VSRG 3-13-00 Dr. Bryce @ Pathweigh highest 350+ date of surgery 3-13-00 257 lbs. 3-13-01 185 lbs. 10-27-01 I am a 31 waist!!!!!! 11-3-01 I am in my goal size 10!!! 11-26-01 OMG I AM PREGNANT!!!!!!! calcium The problem being that we can absorb 500mg at one time, at BEST, and we need around 2000mg a day. So, the minimum would be 4 times/day with 'em. If you used Citracal brand, that would be 8 per day. Guest guest
Protein? Sugar? 100%. The problem is getting enough volume to net enough. That's not a problem with sugar, though. I figure we all get 150% with that stuff. Get close & it jumps right on a hip or thigh. Thanks, www.vitalady.com Re: Iron - Ferrous Glycinate > > > > Yes, I would like to find ONE calcium citrate pill to take ONCE A DAY that > is > > sold in huge quantities at a cheap price! > > > > Homepage: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Graduate-OSSG > > > > Unsubscribe: mailto:Graduate-OSSG-unsubscribe > > > > > > > > > >

Guest guest
I'm still wondering if some of the "pros" on the diet recommend an extra calcium supplement or if you feel we get enough from the veggies and the yogurt we're eating? I worry about my daughter's bones and teeth at a young age but I don't want her taking anything that's unnecessary. This is probably to sneak extra calcium into the diets of kids who don't eat enough calcium rich foods, because the cookbooks I am referring to are geared at families who have ASD kids, who are very picky eaters. I bought the Kirkman's hypoallergenic calcium powder to make these recipes as written, in case the calcium also does something to the ingredients I am not aware of. Hopefully, it's okay to use. Here's the link: http://www.kirkmanlabs.com/ViewProductDetails@Product_ID@... I am severely lactose intolerant, and dairy is not in my immediate future. Even a large amount of goat products are " iffy " right now. I think supplementing, for the time being, is a good way to go. Marilyn Marilyn2, One of the things which is so pleasant about ASD kids on SCD is that most of them become less picky as their guts heal! If you are doing dairy-free SCD, then the calcium powder is not a bad idea. Another source is to wash, dry, and powder egg-shells for addition to recipes -- you get not just calcium, but other minerals as well. But make sure you really powder them, or they'll be gritty in whatever you fix. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
Guest guest
Just a caution. Some of us with ASD kids are stopping calcium supplementation because it causes bad behavior. The reason is that it's too much calcium for the body to process all at once. Calcium from food is best. on the Vitamin K list advises against calcium supplements. Bone broth and wild-caught salmon (you can pureed it up with the bones) are good non-dairy sources of calcium. , mom to > > I have cookbooks that use calcium powder as part of their recipes.
